6 works cars and more than 40 racers on BILSTEIN

Partner of Black Falcon, Aston Martin Racing and C.Abt Racing at the ADAC Zurich 24h

In a landscape shaped by countless volcanoes, the Nürburgring is the last truly wild "witches' cauldron" in the German Eiffel region. From 26 to 29 May 2016, the 44th ADAC Zurich 24h race promises another highly entertaining ride through the Green Hell. Martin Flick, Motorsports Director at BILSTEIN, is in particularly good spirits in 2016 and refers to a first cautious prognosis which sees over 40 cars with BILSTEIN suspension technology at the starting line: "This includes numerous high-calibre racers which could go not just for best in class but even for an overall win." In total, up to 200 vehicles and 200,000 spectators are once again expected for the event.

Racing fans and the press are already watching the activities of the numerous works and semi-works teams very carefully. Compared to 2015, BILSTEIN was able to once again significantly increase its presence in this environment. Several teams are using the adjustable "Modular Damper System" with the new four-way adjustment. Of course Black Falcon as a longstanding, successful partner is participating again and supplies three AMG GT3 with BILSTEIN suspension components. For one of these vehicles, the legendary racing team also continues the tradition of the blue-and-yellow BILSTEIN car which this year is a Mercedes for the first time.

The pioneer of gas-pressure shock absorbers also has a fruitful, longstanding cooperation with Aston Martin Racing. This year, the British team will be sending two Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 on the infernal ride with a lap length of exactly 25.378 kilometres. The drivers for car number 007 are particularly interesting: Pedro Lamy and Darren Turner are experienced old hands behind the wheel, supported by the aspiring young Danes Nicki Thiim and Marco Sörensen.

In 2016, the successful C.Abt Racing team led by former ADAC-GT-Masters and DTM driver Christian Abt will for the first time be driving the distinctive Bentley Continental GT3, with a works contract. Both vehicles are equipped with the BILSTEIN MDS with four-way adjustment and will be piloted by high-calibre drivers. This results in a combination with solid chances for winning.

Land Motorsport’s R8 LMS is also geared up to start with the BILSTEIN MDS. This racer already demonstrated its potential by winning the pole position at the first VLN weekend of the season. This result was based on the fastest lap, done by Marc Basseng.

The Astra OPC Cup and the Toyota GT86 Cup as supporting races for the 24h race will also make for interesting viewing. BILSTEIN mono-tube gas-pressure shock absorbers with Upside-Down technology and parallel adjustment in bump and rebound stage are standard equipment for both one-make series. In addition to all this, the BILSTEIN experts in their blue-and-yellow team gear will also be looking after numerous other teams using BILSTEIN shock absorbers in the pits and in the BILSTEIN truck.
